Extending over 720 hectares, the historic center of Naples is the largest historic center in all of Europe, and includes testimonies from diverse styles and periods – from its foundation in the 8th Century B.C. as the Greek colony Neapolis, to its subsequent domination by the Romans, and from the Swabian-Norman era to the Reign of the Anjous, and finally from its time under the Aragonese Empire, the Kings of France, to the period of Unification under Garibaldi and the resulting Kingdom of Italy.

2ND DAY, NAPLES
This morning, after breakfast our tour guide will meet you in the hotel lobby to take you on an extensive and dynamic walking tour of Naples. Visiting Naples’s historic centre means travelling through twenty centuries of history. Naples is a unique incredible town, full or Art, History, Music, Culture. A place with strong character as few towns in the world. From your hotel you reach piazza Gesù Nuovo, starting point of the walking tour and also of the discovery of the ancient hearth of the city. You will walk through the narrow streets of the ancient Greek and Roman city in order to find the origin of the city in its historical centre. You will visit the impressive excavations found by chance under the church of San Lorenzo, the ruins of an ancient street with shops and public buildings and the forum, the main square of the Greek Neapolis.
Naples is also a city of ancient superstition and popular traditions which often are mixed with religion. An example is found by walking through Via San Gregorio Armeno, where the artisans of terracotta represent the birth of Christ under the guise of the poor inhabitants of city in its narrow streets. Moreover you will get in touch with the mysteries of Naples in the San Severo Chapel, temple of free masonry and esoteric art, with masterpieces of sculpture dating back to the 18th century . And then the magic atmosphere of a cloister of enclosed nouns in the middle of the city: the monastery of Santa Chiara, gothic Angiovine church where the cloister is completely coated by hand painted tiles, the “majolica”, bright colours mixing with lemon and orange-trees of the garden. The city is also well known for its great culinary tradition: have a fantastic pizza for lunch and taste “sfogliatella pastry”, invented by a nun 700 years ago. At the end of the tour, enjoy the view of the city, the Gulf with Capri, Vesuvio and Sorrento from the top of the town.
3RD DAY , NAPLES
Today our tour guide will meet you at your hotel and will lead you on another walking tour through some of the best shopping streets of Naples until you will reach the National Archaeological Museums. Here you will admire some amazing works of art, most of them from the Pomulaneum Excavations. Return to your hotel. Overnight.
4TH DAY, NAPLES
Today the day is at leisure to allow you to continue to explore this very dynamic and interesting city. We will provide all relevant information to help you discover the treasures of the city. Overnight.
5TH DAY, NAPLES
Breakfast. our private driver will meet you in your hotel lobby to bring you back to airport or to the railway station. End of tour.
